Pokemon's 4th generation may be the one that truly defined Pokemon - from the physical/special split, the idea that Pokemon can have legitimately deep lore, and, surprisingly - its music. A large part of the current soundscape of Pokemon originates back to this game, from the bass-heavy, high-energy tracks of Black and White, to essentially all route and town tracks.
