"This review feels so paradoxical to me. How was Kendrick supposed to deliver a specific message to the listener while also leaving things up to interpretation? You say that nuance is necessary to derive true meaning—so everything Kendrick said here was shallow? While yeah, his message isn’t extremely complicated, you act like Kendrick speaks in total binaries here. Also I don’t blame Kendrick for feeling the need to address people’s view of him. Everybody thought of him as the prolific rapper who would save hip hop and who could do no wrong.
Also, for the record, Kodak Black’s rapping on Silent Hill wasn’t bad at all."
