In preparation for The Weeknd’s upcoming album this Friday, I’ve finally given After Hours the time for a long overdue, proper listen. The album tackles on heavy themes, such as the dark side of fame and drug addiction, but its overall story focuses on coming to terms with the end of a toxic relationship. Eusexua, as FKA twigs describes as "the state of being," keeps the listener hooked throughout the whole album with its irresistible melodies and captivating production. I must admit that this is usually not my cup of tea, but twigs offers tracks that goes to unexpected places and is filled with interesting elements. "Girl Feels Good" and "Perfect Stranger" were two of my favorites that I eventually downloaded, due to its great choruses and lovely melodies.

Life and death were constantly brought up in this album — from struggling with the harsh reality of life to asking "what does death feel like?"

Orion Sun dives into all of the complexities of coping with heartbreak and having to face deep yearning for someone, as well as the continuous reminiscing of what once was.
The self-titled album used minimal production, and although Orion has had no problem making a bare song pleasing to listen to in the past, majority fell short on this project.
