155: Hex by Bark Psychosis
The origin of the Post-Rock name doesn't disappoint
Pros:
Sound - It's such a soothing yet haunting record.
Impressive Debut - For a first LP, this is insanely impressive! They already sound like experienced musicians that know how to function as a singular unit.
Influence - Not really a definitive pro, but I'd be an idiot not to mention how influential this thing is. It quite literally coined the post-rock name for its genre, even though Talk Talk did it first years before.
Tracklist - Flows nicely, and not many misses.
Cons:
Quiet Vocals - Speak up! I can't hear you over this calm music!!
Weak Points - "A Street Scene" and "Big Shot" didn't feel as well-crafted as the rest of the tracklist.
Overall: A great start to what would evolve into one of the greatest subgenres music has ever seen.
