Hard Normal Daddy is a drill and bass album which somehow combines IDM and jazz fusion without losing the charm of either genre. This album is kinda baffling to me in many ways.

First of all, it feels like a combination of Drukqs and Casiopea self titled and it somehow contains the best aspects of both albums almost to a T. I want to start by saying that the opener, David, is simply perfect imo. It sets the tone and themes for the album very effectively, it sounds incredible and only gets better in the second half, its a brilliant intro and the rest of the album did not disappoint.

This albums production is gorgeous, its very clear and vibrant but its never truly at ease. Theres always an underlying tension in the album, this is most apparent in the second half of David and Fucked Up.

I truly believe this is one of if not the best IDM album I have heard this decade so far. Its unique, enticing and shockingly well produced all at the same time. This is what it looks like when you do the impossible and make noisy music both clear and catchy. Somehow. Every song sticks to the dark, harsh theme but has its own distinct sound and tone. Simply incredible.
