Tame Impala - Deadbeat
49

After a five year wait, this felt kind of underwhealming. Now i do like what Tame Impala usually has in store and the idea of him making a house album does sound cool in concept. However it just kind of falls flat, with delivering some pretty boring and uninteresting ideas that go on for way to long, and drags the experince down with it. Honestly i think that i wasn't very hyped to begin with, with the first single End Of Summer just being ok, but for it being the final track, it takes any ... read more

Massive Attack - Mezzanine

Recommendation from my good buddy Ghandy

This album didn't have me completely sold on first listen, but got me sold further along as i took time to digest what it had to offer. First off, if i take anything away from this project (holy shit sounded so professional saying that word) it's gotta be the atmosphere that it creates and the great production. If anything the first three songs on here are really good and worth continuing to listen to the entire album. Overall might grow with ... read more

twenty one pilots - twenty | one | pilots

It's fine, like a really don't wanna hate on this, because it's just Tyler's stuff that he made all by himself on garage band or something when the band was just forming and had no label. But i will say that there is a lot of room for improvement and potential. Some production choices are kinda messy and ruins some songs, and other times Tyler's singing is pretty underwhelming.

A few momments really spark potential, but it's very rough around the edges and needs ... read more

Big Thief - Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You
92

When going into this thing, i was very nervous when looking at the runtime. I thought for a Folk album that it would be a big snoozefest. However it has managed to grib me in to something new that it had to offer with every listen. For almost having an hour and a half for it's runtime, it surprisingly manages to keep me engaged the entire time with each song and lyrics sung by Adrianne lenker. Overall a really good album that has me catching something new or a new favourite song each ... read more

twenty one pilots - Breach

After couple of listens, i think i can articulate somthing down. To start of wow, what a journey it has been. While i wasn't around for the start when Blurryface and Trench came out, i got around somewhat when the rollout for Clancy happened. But is it better then Clancy? Mabye i will have to see how this grows on me by the end of the year to compare. But to start of with it can be alot during the first listen, was for me certainly, but after awhile som of the songs on here clicked with ... read more

Radiohead - The King of Limbs
64

As of right now, this may be my least favourite Radiohead i have heard, but that might change since i still need to listen to Pablo Honey as the last album before i have heard their entire discography. Back on track, i will give it this. It can be quite chaotic and intense during the start, but later calms down during the end. A Hypnotic and interesting experience i will give it that, but then that's about it.

Honestly i don't see myself listening to some of the tracks on here as ... read more

Mac DeMarco - Guitar
63

Run of the mill and pretty formulaic to say the least. While pretty raw which i think is very nice to start with, but becomes a drag to sit through with the same drum pattern and dull guitar playing, not to mention Mac sometimes doesn't sound good at some points. It frustrates me, because i know that he is great at bringing a memorable piano, synth or guitar riff to the table, but nothing really here sticks out to much from that. While i still enjoy it, i don't plan on coming back as ... read more

Joey Valence & Brae - HYPERYOUTH
78

Like the mature direction the bros took on HYPERYOUTH. It's overall fun, danceable, and gets a pretty good stup up in production. Don't know how much i will return to this as i found a couple of lines to be pretty cringe, but that didn't ruin the songs for me. Overall it's a nice improvment from their previous work no hands, and look forward to see what they do in the future. Also sampling goes pretty crazy on here which i love.

LMFAO but if they were more ... read more

Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge over Troubled Water

One out of the first three vinyls that i bought when i got into music and vinyl collection, and for what it is worth it still holds up nicely in my collection to this day. If i had to describe it with the first few words that come to mind, beautiful, tender, caring and bittersweet would be some of the first words that come to mind. Song writing is absolute top notch on this thing, with some great and caring preformances. While it may lose a bit of momentum during the end, it's still a ... read more

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
90

While i have heard of Quadeca from his previous album and mixtape, and him being a content creator on youtube to start with. However i have never took the time to listen to him, but that changes now. First and formost i didn't know if i was going to like this or not, as most youtubers who branch out from content creation into music, either leave some ok but slighty forgettable or god awful music in my opinion. However that problem doesn't seem to be an issue for Quad, as he has proved ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
80

What really carries this thing has got to be Alche's production and the small bag of features throughout it. Like i am always in awe of Paak's delivery and especially impressed by JID's verse on Gold Feet that made me kind of hype for his latest album dropping soon. Freddie works well one the beats and flows well, but that is about it as i don't really think that he stands out as much else or does anything special. overall some good japanese gangsta rap.

SZA - Ctrl

I feel like I would have enjoyed SZA more, however I don’t know, as i still feel like something is holding me back from really getting into her. Nonetheless it’s a pretty solid listen and has some smooth melodies and vocals from SZA. Also the concept is pretty cool and has some things that I do dig. Overall it’s mostly chill but that does work for it.

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
87

Might probably be my favorite hiphop album of the year and maybe album of the year (omg he said the name website) for me, but we’ll see. Overall I never heard of clipse before but I’m glad I checked this thing out. So much creativity went in from Pharrell, Push and malice, and you can hear it from the production to the lyrics and rhymes, along with the features. All things considered it’s really a great experience front to back, that might grow on me with future. And man what ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
78

Honestly when this was announced, I didn’t have to high of expectations to this, as it came out almost a couple of months efter Chromakopia. Neither I or Tyler had high expectations for it, but still I’m glad I went into to it with low expectations, because it managed to be a pretty solid listen. While there isn’t a big concept to follow this thing, the songs still manage to be pretty good. Isn’t anything mind blowing but it’s just fun. In a way it’s ... read more

So i'd listend to this thing years ago, however i wasn't doing well mentally so i stopped. But that was then and now i'm doing well mental, so what is there to say that hasn't already been said. For me personally the only reason i got back to listen to this thing agian is bacause one of my friends is a huge GD fan, so i know i had to please him. Overall it's in your face, rebellious, chaotic and all over the place in a good way and can sometimes suprise with what it has ... read more

Makoto Matsushita - First Light
78

While i may not love this as many others do, i still think that it has a pretty good vibe to it and this thing does picture a day at the beach for me, so thats another bonus. It is pretty good blend of city pop and yacht rock that reminded me alot of Steely Dan indtil they mentioned them. Only thing i have against it is that it can be a bit mundane somtimes with the sound but that's about it.

The Beatles - Rubber Soul
79

It's pretty good, and has some nice production, with some catchy tunes along the way. Not completely blown away like with other releases and at times it can feel a little bit formulaic. But overall it's a solid listen from front to back, with only the last track kind of ruining the album, but still it's a pretty good Beatles album.

Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds From Another Planet

I at first i didn't think i was going to like this as much and only like Jubilee. However after seeing her live and performing some of these songs on here, i started to like it alot more. As the album title suggests it's pretty nice and calming, and can also really pack alot of emotion during the second half of this thing. Overall i definitely feel like i'm on a whole other planet.'

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

While i do like DAMN. for what it tells and presents on here, i still can't help but FEEL. that this is his weakest and one that i don't have much LOYALTY. to return to as often as with others. However just because i might not have given it a much higher score, doesn't mean i still LOVE. what it does on here with the sound, ELEMENT. and themes. Most of it is just ok and not as spectacular as other releases.

Overall for me saying that it is kendricks weakest album, is saying ... read more

Mitski - Laurel Hell
72

it's a pretty decent album for Mitski, but i have nothing more then that. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty good and well made. However it just feels kind of bland and forgettable, with not much to make anything stand out. It's weird because Mitski can make some pretty memorable ballads and fun songs that are pretty sad. But here even after i listened to it again, i just can't remember anything at all that stuck the landing. Only take away i have is that some of these ... read more
