It's clear the Bug Club are done joshing around. On OtIIWotS they get a little more aggro in sound and in attitude, and where before they danced around pop music tauntingly, now they're starting to bite. Listen carefully and you'll be rewarded by subtle harmonizing and effortless instrumentation. A bunch of sneaky earworms. Top notch.
Wild, catchy, and incredibly creative. Some of the interludes grate, and a couple of tracks are skips. Even so, "Rare Birds" shines.
Really strong debut album. Way more mature than it should be (& I'm not just talking about "Adult Swim"). One to watch. Strong 8
One of my favorite albums of the last couple years and clearly criminally slept-on. At times beautiful or catchy, above all moving, profound, and beyond sincere. The orchestral arrangements are impeccable, and Marlows poetic lyrics are spellbinding from the start. Will always be close to my heart.
