admittedly, some songs can get a little boring (namely sex karma, coquette coquet, and enemy gene), but the features on this album are really lovely. janelle monae has a beautiful voice, and they compliment each other very well- you do mutilate? has a wonderful message and is a great abstract work!! i think my favourite track is probably girl named hello and godly intersex. overall a very very good listen and i highly recommend!!! i also love jon brion's works so having him as a producer ... read more
honestly i don't care to hear snobs say "albums can't be 100s!" yes they can. and this album is one of them!!!! the past is a grotesque animal is genuinely one of the most gut wrenching songs i've listened to and hearing it live made me cry actually. labyrinthian pomp is heavily underrated btw. anyways this album is just so introspective and was one of my first exposures to of Montreal aside from white is relic. this is a must listen album to anybody who enjoys music ... read more
