When your goat still has it.
This may be Skylar Spence's most palpable production yet. It's so crisp and defined, even the crunchiest production sounds really intentional. What a wonderful celebration of this artist. It's got the crunchy lofi sound of Late Night Delight, infectious hook samples like Hit Vibes, the restraint and breaks from Mannequin Challenge and the fast pace of Cash Wednesday. It's really everything you'd want rolled into one.
It's almost too ... read more
A very pulled back sound that has its place, but I prefer my slushwave to be more active.
I'll probably listen to this another time while doing something else, or maybe a stereo listen would be better.
Honestly, this kinda falls off as it goes on... The jewel box tracks are good and tracks like Garnet and Amethyst are fantastic, but then there's songs like Ruby and Opal... What is that?? They feel directionless, kinda disappointing.
Definitely a mixed bag, but the tracks I enjoy still paint a vivid picture in my head.
Garnet reminds me of a relative's house at Christmas, but it's entirely made of Garnet, sparkling with every light fixture. I walk around looking for others, ... read more
Tap water, save me.
Tap water, save the world.
Can you feel the way sound cradles your body? Does it make you feel like yourself? Can the electroplankton soundfont love me? I think it can.
It's hard to describe how this album makes me feel. It makes me feel like I'm a kid again, like I'm being dragged gently through the dark ocean seeing the rays of sun from above, like I'm floating and free. I feel as if I lack all responsibility and and I'm free in a moment of my ... read more
The world around me is dark and all I can feel is the ambience. Swirling around me, I feel its comfort as it pulls me away from the mundane and into my mind. The day fades away and I feel like myself, alone and connected. My eyes open just a sliver and I can see a glimpse of the direction of flow the water takes.
A wonderful immersive soundscape that made me think a little deeper about my day. I highly recommend, although it does lose steam by the second half.
A 20 year gap since the last album is nuts. This album has a warm nostalgic sound with well represented guitars and drums that feel like a comforting memory in your childhood bedroom. Not unlike what's heard in albums by fun., but I strongly feel that indie albums like this one, that more loose with how it sounds, are far more to my taste. It was wonderful to lay down and listen to this.💛
What a best of collection! It has got fantastic production throughout the whole thing. Sometimes the lyrics and flow are quite similar to each other, but there are a lot of standout tracks. "Find your way" and "Pulse" are a fantastic 1-2 punch leading into each other. The first having well delivered repetitive inflections and "Pulse" being an ever building instrumental that I loved. The percussion in this entire album is fantastic. Another track that lives in my ... read more
Pokemon games have always struggled with their production quality, even if the compositions are fantastic the final master is usually unimpressive in some way. This soundtrack may be the first time I've been very impressed with the final master of a pokemon game. These songs are clear and crisp, showing a lot of restraint keeping it from becoming very noisy like Sword and Shield or directionless like the more intense tracks from Arceus. The jazz instrumentation of certain existing songs ... read more

I'm going to be honest, I really had no idea who J Dilla was for the longest time. I saw a mini review for this album in an Instagram reel. Hearing his style and learning about him really compelled me to just listen to this ASAP and I really enjoyed it! The production, melodies and mixing are right up my alley. That video was also where I learned that he died mere days after this release and showed him working until the very end. Even though I had no knowledge ... read more
This is executed really well!
I've said that I'm not a fan of vtuber lore, but Ina has always put her own personality, jokes and ideas first while seamlessly blending her "backstory" into her streams and bits. This song is a wonderful balance of fictional character and Ina's own traits. It didn't get lost in production and become just another vtuber song of no substance or authenticity. This has Ina's identity all over it. It's not my number 1 genre ... read more
Oh man, there's some magic in some of these tracks! These end of year albums are such a treat and this one's my favourite since Super Desert. The variety is always the part I look forward to most. There's a lot of continuity in this release specifically with tracks like the piano rendition of Bluebells and "Żfin tad-Ditekzzjoni tad-Dinja" which has that unbelievable intense dreamy sound I haven't heard since 我思う、ゆえに我あり. I would really love a ... read more
I made a contribution to this project with a full ambient instrumental. I'm not sure where it ended up though.
This a super cool project and the list of features is really impressive. Each track brings a different atmosphere with it and it's really effective at showing a communities music coming all together.
You can tell why the 3 new tracks were the fat that was trimmed off from the original release, but that doesn't mean they're bad at all. I think that they add a lot actually. Each one does something unique that stands out form the musical styling from the original and each of them is better than the last.
Sleigh Ride, in my opinion, has Schlatt's Weakest vocal performance out of all 11 tracks. His voice sounds far to monotone, except at the end. The instrumental is really good ... read more
Kane, you are so damn skilled. So many other artists have tackled the idea of a project that interpolates internet pop culture, but I don't feel many have done it as well as this. I'm hearing so many different origins for inspiration throughout this album. Metaverse anuryem sounds like a cold cut vaporwave track, Tiktok Sigma male trillionaire grindset is a perfect interpolation of popular phonk (it actually sounds good). There is too much to dissect. I'm hearing royalty free ... read more
DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter are unbelievable. Such a fantastic set. Falcon has some kind of magic touch. His mixes are so groovy.
This is one the most special albums for me. I got into Daft Punk pretty late, but it sent me on a journey though so much amazing music, making them one of my favourite artists. This is an album that just gets better and better as time goes on. These robots truly are some of the best to ever do it. I had a big Daft Punk phase in 2021 when they had just split up and that phase has come back in full swing in 2025. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd like to thank the Fortnite team for ... read more
I finally get it.
Human after all is a pivotal moment in Daft Punk's discography. Going back to their dj days of repetitions and an at the time new unapologetic arrangement style, this album feels like an uncompromised vision. It is often self indulgent, abrasive and there are moments that I believe are overplayed, but it doesn't bother me anymore. They went from on top of the dance world into whatever they wanted. There was no preconceived notion of what to do. This album is a key ... read more
Talk your shit Guy-Man! That Le knight Club remix is fantastic! It's chopped up synthpop production perfection.
All of the versions of this track are great, but every once in a while I'll go looking for tracks that involve the Daft Punk duo, either together or on their own and I somehow hadn't heard this track yet. That's really what I was looking for, more of that rare Guy-Man work. Him and Eric did a fantastic job on this.
This is also on Qobuz, lossless quality, thank ... read more
Oh man. The fills present in these live renditions make these tracks really special. I loved this front to back. Maybe not as iconic, but the instrumentation feels deeply personal.
