I was very quick to hate on this album on release because of what I heard from SWIM and Hooligan, arguably among the weakest on this project, but after a friend showed me some of the other songs (and unfortunately made me listen to SWIM again), I decided to give this one a fair shot. After years of not finding any appeal in BTS, has it finally clicked for me after listening to ARIRANG? nope, but that doesn't mean this album is bad.
I will preface this with the fact that even after their ... read more
Genuinely one of the best in 2000s teen pop. I actually like this album better than Lemonade Mouth (even though I find that to be the better movie), simply because there aren't really any atrocious antagonist songs except for the Sharpay version of You Are the Music in Me. This is the kind of shit that made Disney an unstoppable force in show tune teen pop during the height of Disney Channel.
HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think that for the time ... read more
I honestly thought Kim Petras would be too electropop for me (even as a fan of most electropop). Was I right?? kind of,,
Genuinely one of the best introductions to Dariacore you could ever have.
First single and it already feels like she’s trying something new. Amazing stuff.
tsubi club is the only artist I would describe as a perfectionist in the hyperpop scene. Only having made 2 singles, both years apart from one another, and both being songs I would consider absolutely perfect, it's not hard to see why. He prides himself in making every song as intentional as possible and connecting it to the overall theme of tsubi club.
So imagine my suprise when he announced a 12 song album out of nowhere, releasing very soon after the announcement.
No, this album is ... read more
As a fan of most things electropop/digicore/hyperpop, I was actually quite suprised that I haven't ever consiously heard a Tiffany Day song. Full disclosure, I didn't even intend on ever listening to Tiffany Day as she had gone completely under my radar until now. The absolute genius of the social media marketing of this album and all of the songs on it is what drew me in. I'm fairly certain I had heard the chorus of all but 2 of the songs on this album due to having seen every ... read more
The easiest way to describe this album is majestic anemoia.
I feel like i'm almost hearing Stomp and Holler in some parts of melody and young post-2020 singer-songwriter vocals (??) but I don't really know how to explain it. Point i'm making is that this album is weirdly euphoric.
There are some good ideas here and the production is pretty solid throughout, but MAN it feels like nothing is ever experimented with in this album. Flows feel roughly the same every time with some solid tracks like halftime and paris hilton, but other than that, I don't see myself relistening to most of this.
why did man do that is he stupid
i mean its new for sure. couple of the songs were really nice in the first half. just solid music, nothing to write home about.
Might be the outlier but I think this is really solid. Good consistent tracklist of well made and catchy dance-pop/k-pop songs. Maybe I have the benefit of working in hindsight seeing as most reviewers listened to this album while the reception of it was poor (due to songs like gnarly), but I think that nowadays it's good.
I don't really know why anyone is sitting here acting like this is unprecidented stuff and that HxG have suddenly made a critical error. The song is OKAY. It's just OKAY.
This song has had a live version out to the public for quite a while that had a decently positive, if not mostly mixed, reception, and the only valid criticism i've seen that differentiates that version and this one is the baby voice sample, which is not as annoying as people have made it out to be.

Definitely not my thing, but on the upside, Professional Vengeance is the one of the best songs i've heard in a while.
A Nonsense Christmas is not good and fruitcake should not have ended on what is essentially a cover (white xmas). Other than that, pretty awesome. Cool to see some modern Sabrina flavor shine through in these.
