Well this album sure has the most accurate title, what an enjoyable listen! This project has some of Billie's greatest songs to date. I like how there were elements of rock, alternative, and soul. The production was fantastic and the album flowed so well. This is definitely my favorite Billie project, really well done!
Favorites: Skinny, Chichi, Wildflower, The Greatest
This album is cohesive, fun, experimental, and freeing. You are taken through every emotion Troye intends to portray in these tracks. Starting with the bold "Rush" to the groovy yet sincere track "What's The Time Where You Are?" and then transitioning to one of the most vulnerable tracks Troye has made "One Of Your Girls" exhibits right away how well thought out the track list was. STGEO is raw and not only showcases the lingering sadness while healing from a ... read more
This song is one of the catchiest I have heard in a while. Very good call to release this nearing summer, it will be a well played one for sure.
I really like the direction Abrams is going in with this upcoming record. This song is playful, captivating, and fun to listen to with its fast paced verses that lead into a hard hitting and catchy chorus. It is one of those songs that you know will play well live and draw a crowd in. Her vocals sound really impressive here as well, I have a feeling this will be a great project for her.
This track surprised me, Jxdn sounds really nice here and the production is great. It has a nostalgic sound that feels nice and clear. I am excited to hear Jxdn's sound go in this direction, he sure has talent.
This is a fun one, the beat is a familiar one that would make anyone want to groove to it. Besson's voice has a lot of range that I look forward hearing him show off more hopefully in future projects. The lyrics are light hearted to match the vibe of the song.
This song feels really good for Valley, they are always exploring their sound in different ways but this one feels natural to them. Definitely has a COIN feel to it as Chase Lawrence worked on this with them, Rob's vocals really shine with this record. This record is a breath of fresh air, looking forward to hearing this upcoming era.
One of my current favorites and will probably remain one for a good part of the year. Knox's flow is smooth and satisfying to listen to. The drums are also great on this.
To be honest, country is not normally my go-to genre of music to listen to, but this record sparked my interest in this genre again. I had initially listened to "your place" and I appreciated the empowering message of not allowing a past partner to check up on you after a period of time. I think the record starts strong with "tastes like" moving into "see you around" telling a story of a relationship that Cooke expresses being reminiscent of from time to time. The ... read more
What a gorgeous record. It has been a pleasure to witness McAlpine's evolution through her music journey after only a few short years. She has transitioned beautifully with this record feeling fuller than her previous ones. 'Older' is a collection of songs that articulates the feelings of change, such as the song Come Down Soon which encapsulates McAlpine's suspicion of life feeling too content. The message reminds me of Kacey Musgrave's Happy and Sad, and in many ways, this record reminds me ... read more
I thought Fireworks and Rollerblades was a solid debut album. Boone's voice is powerful and has moments both of delicacy and intensity. Some songs took me by surprise such as "Cry" which starts as a ballad of some sort but then transitions into a hard-hitting pop song. The song meanings were a bit repetitive but it is refreshing to see a debut album created with such passion. Hopefully Boone continues to push himself as an artist and incorporates the same amount of passion into future ... read more
This project is cohesive and satisfying to listen to and songs like 8 Hours have a relatability factor to them. Holliday's vocal tone is calming and pretty and the songs have the perfect length to them. It makes me excited to see what direction Holliday goes into musically in the future.
