This album is something unlike anything I've ever encountered: an actually good, high quality Christian EDM album. The production and songwriting are both pretty solid, the theme is there, and the structure of the album is very well put together. Although I’d heard a few of the songs on the album before listening to it in full, I was still pleasantly surprised about how pleasant and tasteful Matchbox 20’s sound is. The songs are all pretty catchy with fun hooks and nice guitars.
Favorite: Argue
A very solid remix EP here, all the songs are enjoyable and do the originals justice. Only reason it doesn't get above a 70 is that nothing really stands out on this one.
Favorite: Falling Apart (Crankdat Remix)
This EP seemed to fall flat for me. In my opinion, most songs felt foreign to the Haywyre sound I know and love. Don't get me wrong, the elements of Haywyre are there (jazzy progressions, talkbox vocals, etc.), but don't fully align. I know you can't expect generational classic after generational classic, but I found myself thinking throughout this EP that the music was just ok.
Favorite: Blind Faith
An album full of character, the beats and fun bars make this album more of an experience. MF DOOM goes crazy like always with the wordplay and the sampling done by Madlib creates the environment in which the songs thrive.
