A bit overwhelming but genuinely very good. the songs are urgent and silly and earnest and all wrapped up in a messy but pretty little bow.

Vanisher, to me, is a somewhat cautionary tale of self-discovery. Have I scoured over lyrics as I've listened? No not really. Have I taken the time to ensure that my interpretation is "correct?" Also no. But are the parts of the album that attach to me the most related to this theme? Absolutely.

my biggest mistake on first listen was using my airpods - because while never enough doesn't hit the same way as glow on for me, it is such a heavenly sounding record

it just gets lovelier and lovelier with every listen, i love this damn band!! i got to hear it a day early and since then every track has just managed to seep into my bones and blossom within me.

this record doesn't exactly know what it wants to be. it fluctuates between the darkness of early work like white tiger and the euphoric edm of boy and even 2, without much of a reason and with even less of the energy. this makes for a slightly disjointed listening experience, its pretty reflective of the struggles that hollis is trying to reckon with on this album.
