Feel like this song probably encapsulates what we can expect from the album pretty well with the energetic 1st half and psychedelic 2nd half. Great performances throughout too, especially with Don's part later on
I've had very high expectations for this album, given the several year gap since the last one, and the pressure surrounding Gawvi to deliver a transformative project. I also enjoyed every single snippet I heard leading up to the album along with the 3 singles. And, now that it's been out, as of now I'd say while the album didnt quite blow me away as I expected it too, I did enjoy it quite a bit (and perhaps my expectations were slightly too high).
The 4 track run at the ... read more
In all honesty, after I listened to this album when it came out, I did enjoy it overall, and was happy that it had some of the best songs I've ever heard from him. But, I had a slight feeling of disappointment because I felt like it wasn't consistent throughout, and it needed more upbeat songs. However, as I already expected when I thought that, virtually the entire album has grown on me significantly as I've had time with it.
I now much more appreciate the sequencing of the ... read more
I'm still fairly new to TOP's music, with this being the 2nd album I've heard from them (with the 1st being Trench) and, in short, I found this to be a cohesive, enjoyable and quite moving experience. The overall vibrant production mixed with the vocal performances are almost always synced quite well together, and while I may not understand the whole meaning behind each song I did enjoy the lyrical content and the way the songs were expressed with them.
Far from a bad song, but I can see everyone else agrees that On Ur Mind and especially Live Forever are much better than this
My two favorite rappers ATM collabed and I love itπ
King Tonka also goes crazy yeat been on such an insane run as of late
This song just didn't need this remix honestly; production is clean Ig but just unnecessary
And some of the build ups sound so weird with the vocal pitching especially in the last one
By far the biggest flaw of this album is how short virtually every song is on here; barely any songs are more than 2 minutes and a good bit of them feel unfinished (although idk the context of the album). However, I really enjoy 451's vocals and melodies all throughout, and the instrumentation is consistently good but also a bit diverse to add some variety, so overall this album was a pretty good intro to his music for me.
This is still definitely one of my favorite albums and this album in particular solidified lancey as one of my favorite artists
Whether it be regarding his performances or the production, there is honestly quite a bit of versatility all throughout, and virtually all of it is done very well. To have whats essentially a piano ballad with Spirit of X2C on the same album as one of my favorite rage songs of all time (World on Fire) and still making it cohesive is amazing. This versatility leads to ... read more
Idk if it was the album cover, or some of the promotional videos he was posting on IG (both with a futuristic theme and whatnot) or the freestyle he posted recently, but I was honestly expecting a lot more and felt quite let down
I guess a few parts of instrumentals & some song titles kinda had this theme but basically the whole album stuck to 1 subject matter and didn't really switch up at all. I know this is mainly the kind of music he makes but that's just how I feel
A lot of these ... read more
Been getting into Fourfives music as of late and this was a pretty good album too; not really any songs that absolutely blow me away or anything & the performances aren't anything crazy but it was decently consistent with some good flows and production.
Best songs: No Marni 2, Mad & Jealous, Since When
Wasn't sure how these 2 would sound on a song together but I honestly mess with quite a bit, Quavo was basically at his best here and I enjoy Destroy Lonely's energy here a lot more than what he was doing on ILCK
I've pretty recently started branching out of listening exclusively rap and this album is one that was quite different than what I usually listened to, but I still definitely enjoyed it for a few reasons.
This is mainly off of a first listen so I probably missed a lot of the messages and whatnot with the lyrics, but I definitely noticed a lot of imagery and just a overall poetic writing style with much of this album. It has some depth but also not too difficult to understand and ... read more
Yep he's never gonna miss
This is even better than the last song bro damnnnn
Just a collection of decent Fivio songs, but not really anything groundbreaking or that he hasn't done before imo (except maybe Same 24). Get Deady been on repeat for a while though
Lancey might be my favorite rapper out rn and this only makes me more sure; he consistently has some of the best production and vocals in the genre for me
I haven't hated most of Trippies recent music as much as others have, but this song just really isn't good. Best part is some of the 1st verse but even that ain't too impressive; besides that definitely a weak performance from Trippie
What an amazing tribute. You can really feel the emotion in Fridayy's vocals and lyrics (with the vocal layering in the 2nd chorus emphasizing that even more), and the production only adds to the depth of this song and reflects his performance virtually flawlessly. The most emotionally powerful song I heard this year and one of the best.
