Some of the songs on here just sound like K-Pop rebranded to me... A little disappointed.
I don't really get the hype for this album. Like I guess it's quite solid and can be unique at times but overall... IDK man I don't understand why people like it this much
The guy's voice makes me feel 6 7
An extremely interesting project with some really fun songs - and I especially like this type of 'fun' production because you can vaguely hear a layer of melancholy at all times. And that's what especially beautiful about it. The record as a whole emerges in a rather typical fashion of an electropop record, with bouncy uses of notes and chords and fun electric twists.
Very impressive!!! Clairo showed that she has matured a lot in terms of musical production with this record. Charm was quite a ride with some incredibly vocals as always, I have always taken a liking to her breathy static-ish voice. But the real remarkable thing is the creative mixing and the use of varied instruments. We got some crazy layers going on!!!
An extremely interesting record. The energy is so dark and sinister throughout with clear bass sounds and the vocalist's low, rough voice fading in and out at all the correct moments. The use of synth is particularly noteworthy because during the period Violator was recorded, dark synth wasn't particularly the norm.
Pretty outstanding record with its strange but compelling and most importantly, unique composition. Though not groundbreakingly stunning, it's certainly quite quirky when placed among its peers, with rather artistic and experimental rock sounds representing that of oldschool psychedelic experimental rock.
I'm actually speechless haha. This album is just so good! It's so quirky and mysterious but also manic in a way that has actually got me goosebumps simply at how - straightforwardly - *good* it is. Throughout the record is an amazing mix of various genres, blending in with each other, creating an atmosphere that feels so surreal almost. It just goes to show how incredible RIngo Sheena is at building and creating art that transforms through genres and genres and manages to retain each ... read more
A really joyful and happy record, I had so much fun listening to it :) Shibuya-kei never fails as a genre really, the production is just as amazing as its peers with the combination of jazz and rock and pop and whatnot. They managed to add even more colors into the melodies and it's just really cheerful
We've got some pretty crazy but, at the same time, incredibly alluring thing going on here. Jane did an outstanding job at cementing their place as one of *the* up-and-coming hyperpop / experimental electronics artists out there, establishing their novelty and individuality and uniqueness through this very record. The chaos in Revengeseekerz surprised me greatly - techno and EDM and hip hop - just raging and crazy.
A simple yet so, so charming record. It has managed to combine various dream pop elements with novelty, that is a rather more electronica way to approach this music genre as whole, which in essence is a very Sweet Trip thing to do. As always this album is layered beautifully with many different sounds mixing but never overwhelming. The slight static on the outer layer gets me hyped the most.
What a fun and stunning record :)! Approaching house & dance with such a complexity of someone who both yearns for the nostalgia that 2000s house music brings AND wants to breathe new life into it, Nina has created an atmosphere just the way she aims for - with various chord progressions and beats similar to that of more traditional electro house music, while still developing it into being her very own style.
An endlessly influential album that has shaped the Vietnamese music scene during the 2000s!
I genuinely am speechless at the beauty Hà Trần manages to express. From start to end lies a beautiful voice with stunning experimental aspects. The layers of vocals simply petrifies me every time, it's so amazing - paired with a rather intense lines of various instruments including Vietnamese traditional ones! The folk elements also shine through but with novelty, pushing the boundaries ... read more
Never been that big of a folk fan but this record for sure is on another level. It paints such a warm and comforting picture along with rather simplistic instrumentals that does their job really well despite being, well, simple. The lyrics hit too close to home sometimes.
Such a lovely record complemented by some pretty amazing jazz sounds. It's cozy and comforting in a warm blanket and hot chocolate way, but it's also quite astounding in the way it approaches jazz with these fun and funky little additions! Elements of Shibuya-kei, sunshine pop and bossa nova shine throughout the record, marking some novelty and most importantly - the feeling of contentment
A really fun album altogether! Its overall energy is really cute and bouncy. You can tell it was so much fun in the studio with these soft and high vocals and funky guitar lines and messing around with various production ways (which makes it sound rather funny sometimes but that only adds more depth to what the record is trying to convey :-))
Amazing and generally accessible noise emo record. The instruments are loud and exhilarating but in a rather controlled way, which contributes to both its incredibility and the downsides of this album. I absolutely love the way the vocalist's voice blends in among anything else, creating that very familiar atmosphere of a dense fog - that is common in shoegaze.
