rating this higher than iceman cause some of it is fun, and the first half doesnt have me asleep, but drake sounds out of place on that production, plus some real ass lines again, wdym "girl you're so underappreciated / Just 'cause your body ain't PG-rated / So much ass you should be cremated" ????
sorry to bring the score down, hope this artist keeps on making music, i really like some of what i heard here
a weird listen as a NIN fan who was really intrigued by the concept of the album and description of the sound. I expected something .. more out of it. you can absolutely hear that its a trent/atticus production, and i guess if you havent heard them before it makes the album sound quite novel, but as a NIN fan its just mellow. far from bad but also just decent to me. edit: also the mixing lowkey sounds off
still props to Halsey for making it, and also that album cover
fav track:

overall really good but also really long and with that too much, too overloading for me towards the end, otherwise id rate it higher
bumping this from 73 up to 86 cause i heard someones attempt at this kinda music and fail miserably and it made me appreciate this album even more
needed a second listen on a different day to really feel it, and yeah it deserves the hype. really strong production that at times reminds me of Justice with a cathartic hedonistic kind of rage. big fan!
dont have much else to say besides that Gas Station and Brittany Murphy had me misty eyed with it's subject matter, and that i hope i get to experience CRANK live one day.
lovefield randomly came on and it gave me a ratatouille food critic flashback to being a young teen hearing Imogen Heap for the first time - immediatelly had to hear the rest of the album
gorgeous, especially that closing track - lost one of my fav metal bands to metalcore slop this year so this was especially refreshing to hear for me
production and sometimes funny lyrics carries it through on shaking legs - theres definitely potential tho
fav track: all night
kinda didnt do it for me, production seems competent, personally not really a fan of the vocal presentation and lyricism - overall not a bad project, just not my thing
track i liked most: cursive
album thats so tailor-made for me.
love the renditions and how it feels like one set, big big hell yeah at the inclusion of memorabilia and the great production overall - old meets new in a really interesting way, its one thing to remix old songs, its another to rerecord them with a new vision. love that a 60 year old man can sing a 30 year old song, keep what made it great, and give us sth new with it. god i love Closer.
only con id have is with the last track not varying much from the ... read more
happy for all the charli fans who (from what i understood) got a sister album to her debut - as an outsider who was intrigued by House and wanted more of that, it fell a lil flat on me, still decent
beautiful album, eventho some songs arent entirely my taste, its overall so gorgeous and the themes be hitting - the sweet prince made me cry. (loooooooove the bonus tracks! pleasantly surprised that the only local store here that still sells CDs had the deluxe edition yippie!)
randomly heard this on youtube and wanted to document it so uh yeah, idk i like it - know nothing about Cattle Press except that they disbanded before i was born
decent but for the majority of it very boring - it sounds so much like sth I'd have heard 10–12 years ago, and if that's exactly the kinda indie pop you want and like, hell yeah it's your lucky day, but for me it left me very :| EXCEPT 'it's just the light' that one caught me literally off guard, lowkey giving trip hop, definitely more experimental than the other tracks, still sth you could have heard 10–12 years ago but if it would have I'd have ... read more
enjoy it but definitely weaker than other albums under the NIN name, the lyrics on some of the songs stuck out with their awkward simplicity and repetitiveness, i wonder how much Disney had a hand in that result
would have loved to hear this in a good cinema but i refuse to give Disney and Leto money for their BS
less my thing compared to EUSEXUA but the production on each song still blew me away
