A late release but very glad I didn't miss it. This dude has a one of a kind voice and his knack emotional vocal performance and songwriting is as good as any class acts around past and present.
Tight set of tracks from Dave. Great writing as well as beats on this thing. Also Im a sucker for anything James Blake so yeah. So good
I heard in an interview Jane's next project will have more of a pop sound. If its anything like this im all here for it
Thought this dude's song on Blush was cool but wow that song did not give me an accurate picture who DERBY is. This stuff gives me Alex G vibes, then dijon, then some Mk.gee, and all with a bit of a twang or country twist. Pleasantly surprised by this thing. I've seen some criticism on the vocal manipulation but I think it complements the albums instrumentals super well
Took me a while to get around this record but man does every track hit. I love j-rock and this scratches all the itches I want in an album like this.
As a Lemon Twigs fan, this album scratches the itch just right. I am a casual fan of Ronnie's work, but hearing these artists perform his songs so well really makes these songs shine through. Only misses were unfortunately when Ronnie performs his own songs. Tree stumps isn't the strongest song and the treatment Ronnie's vocals have on the closing track threw me off even if the song itself is tight. Super fun album though. Thanks papa twig
Every instrumental, while not blowing me away, sets a serene and peaceful bed of sound for Navy Blue to spill his heart out. This project is intimate, emotional, and is carried by Navy's witty ass pen game
How have I just heard of this dude? One of the best projects of the year
I don't think some of these songs hit the same highs as others. But when they do, they end up as some of his best work. Danny's pen game is peak as usual and it's really moving hear him in such a better place
