FIRST THOUGHTS: WHAT KINDA RAPPIN IS THIS?

I feel like I'll like this more overtime. I felt like the trumpets from "All of the Lights" didn't fit well on "Lights". Should be noted that the best songs of this LP are in the middle of this tracklist.

Overall, yeah this is very experimental but at times in the LP it just feels like he just uses that term to justify his beat that he rushed on a random Sunday. This is very much a quantity over quality

Guitar riff was sick but I feel like the song could have been built up to something really good. Overall I'm a bit concerned due to the fact that this is one of the longest song on this newest LP.

You known when you love something so much, just saying "I love you" just isn't enough? That's what U sounds like.

Getting AOTY in 2026 and SOTY in 2025 on the same record literally shows how talented Mag Bay is. Imagine if this was constructed as an album...

Each song is unique and memorable in its own way:
"Second Sleep" sounds ethereal and feels like your floating.
"Human Happens" has this heavy futuristic bass combined with dark synth which goes ALL out on the chorus.

Overconfidence at its finest, John Michel and Anthony James' debut shows talent which shines like a newly polished sword and stabs our expectation.

I'm actually shocked. Lost to words. This won't click for some, you will never know what happens next and it can be all over the place, but for some others, it just works. Please listen to this album, it is the one of the most underrated piece of media I have ever encountered.

Bonus tracks are a great addon to a redefined classic. Although this is a completely different mood compared to the original, its a very nice touch.

Mt. Joy's music are meant for live shows and this one proves my point. You can feel the atmosphere on this recording, from the screeching guitars echoing, to the fans cheering whatever songs are played. Because it contains a lot of my favourites from this band makes this one of my favourite lives ever.

Feels like a massive Y2K themed rave party and the DJ is someone who talks about nothing but computers. Each track bangs so hard.

A perfect send-off to this year.

This EP just sounds magical. Each song is so colourful and unique from each others and they all feel heart-warming. Track 2 is a bit more for the fans of Vylet Pony and is a bit boring but the other songs are just levitating. Please listen to this.

Even if your slightly interested in city pop, you must hear this.
The energy throughout the whole LP makes you feel like your listening to this live. The funky bass, guitar and piano, along with the joyful vocals from Tatsuro Yamashita just feels so good together.

If you were to put someone on this without telling them about how this was made, they would just say its a pretty good electronic ambient album, but explaining how this was composed and arranged will change their view on what this was to them.
