I think the biggest thing that stands out to me is the absolutely nasty-sounding guitar. It’s so low and gritty, and it sounds so good. I sadly don’t think they’re ever going to make another album, which is honestly probably for the better, because most bands usually don’t know when to stop, so kudos to Portishead for knowing when to call it quits (and for going out with one hell of a bang with this album).
