i like this album. absolutely pointless lyrics but the beats tickle my ears just right. anyway i should mention that the cd only bonus track is just the first track but slightly shorter and schoolly & rahsheed swear a little more. it also sounds a littlemore unfinished so not really worth getting the cd just for that song but i love schoolly so like Cool C (and only in this regard) I Gotta Habit

the beats are mostly nice but dred's rapping ranges from kinda one tone but alright to straight ass

i feel like this could've been a much better album had it sounded more like a King Tee album, and if it wasn't so damn long

you know im wasnt even gonna listen to this but the "i got blacker" shit really just hammers that in. like you either are black or you arent its not something you can become more or less of
you can participate in a culture given you actually take the time to understand what it's about and RESPECT IT and that statement just lets everyone know he knows nothing about the culture he's been participating in and also probably doesn't respect it.

“Why is it that the phatter groups are unsigned?” Fuck I don’t know. Seriously, someone tell me. AL.P.S. had to have gone out of their way to stay unsigned because I’ve listened to this for the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth time today. I really wish that was a joke, but at the same time that would probably mean i never got around to listening to this, so maybe i don’t.

SEVERELY underrated album. Can I even call it underrated if nobody's actually rating it? Seriously, more people gotta hear this. It's too bad it couldn't have come out in 1996 when it was ACTUALLY set to release, but what can you do.

according to schoolly some guy that would later become the mayor of philadelphia paid him to make this and he felt like such a sell out afterwards that he bought back every single copy of it he could find and burnt them all, which made him decide to do a 180 and make the most offensive thing he could think of

so thank this record for psk and gangster rap in general. i guess

“Batter Ram” is an important piece of L.A. hip hop history, as well as Gangsta Rap history, but there’s too many stolen beats on this album to warrant listening to the rest of it.

all i'll say is this is my favorite album ever. coincidentally released exactly 20 years before my birth date, somehow every song resonates with me in some way (even incredibly shallow ones like "Mama Feel Good", the beat is funky!!!) and is probably schoolly's best work. "Am I Black Enough For You?" & "Godfather Of Funk" have both nearly brought me to tears multiple times on separate occasions (don't ask me why, i dont know either)

i bought this cd from a savers and it was caked in a starnge shit like substance, which wasn't a very good sign but 2 tracks in things were looking good, although that wouldnt last too long
“Man of The Year” is pretty boring. theyve got something there but it goes on too long not doing much and it gets old
