It's a lot! There's 32 tracks on here each by different artists, for a total of almost two and a half hours of music. Necessarily not the most stylistically consistent then, ranging from ambient soundscapes to spoken-word poetry to the occasional folk or even IDM, but for the most part everything here works well together and contributes to a fairly solid soothing atmosphere. The first three quarters or so of this project, filled with slow but continuously immersive folksy textures, had me well intrigued. Then the final quarter had my jaw on the floor. Loved this.
I wasn't immediately sold on this album during its opening two tracks, whether that was because I hadn't yet quite gotten used to its sound - a blend of hard-hitting club electronica and lumbering brass stabs - or because the project was simply holding its best material for slightly later.
