i had a lot of thoughts about this album very early on. sonically it sounds amazing, he killed the vocals both harsh and normal. the guitar composition is so perfectly done and placed in a way that once again sets a surreal scene for the whole album. the drums were fun and well done but nothing too special and the bass was given little representation in my opinion. however, i dont think the beauty of this album comes purely in the instrumentals. the shoegaze aspect of this album is really what ... read more

A heavy track for sure. found this genre through recommendation from a friend and this record is not kind to newcomers. that being said, I really enjoyed this album and I go back to it on occasion. its got bone shaking guitar, super intricate 6 string bass riffs I'm about 20 years from playing, and a drummer so talented I thought he was using 4 kicks LOL. the vocals are wicked and so guttural but they are indecipherable. that's my issue with this record: I have no idea what he's ... read more

absolutely nailed this picturesque goth record! siouxsie's voice is so perfect for the style she shoots for. I had it described to me as "melty" and I just loved that. not gonna pretend like I'm the first to say cities in dust is an amazing track but also star crossed lovers was so sweet despite not being a perfect closer track and song from the edge of the world is very nice. this is an album I feel I could just sit down and shed a few tears to.

tasty chamber jazz record. nothing too special, but I really do feel like this is one of my favorite chamber jazz albums. Fred marshall taking some fun liberties on bass but as I said before, nothing too extravagant. doesn't mean I didnt like it :)

amazing album. even just lyrically the constant metaphors of ruin and melancholy eternity (idk what words to use thats just how i felt about unending waltz paired with castle in the sky) dont fail to strike you down to the core even if you have no idea what they were mean to represent. the portrayal of pilgrimage throughout the whole album is a unique one that i definitely was here for. musically, the album is nothing short of an artwork. metal is a difficult genre to work in my opinion but ... read more
