this is a really solid album! beautiful in so many ways. musically, this is glorious, with matt maltese’s voice sliding over large arrangements of guitars, strings, piano and woodwinds. there’s not a dull moment on this album. it’s a nice narrative where matt does what he’s always done best- yearn.
that being said, lyrically, he sometimes fall into real cliches and occasionally it becomes a little cringe to have to listen to. there are brilliant lyrical moments ... read more
i have not listened to the song but i seriously doubt creating a whole career on sexualising yourself for hits is going to work out
genius. brilliant. dying. what can i say? beautiful
method acting (demo) - 90: 'i try to stop the bleeding with the hands that crucified you, the irony of that will not be lost on me im afraid' fuck me. fuck everything. trying not to throw up. the woman's a genius
pushing it down and praying - 95: 'im in bed laying down naked, he's inside of me' like you can't even connect to the sex unless you're imagining someone deeper, someone better. i love this ... read more
i don't know why, at the time, i was hating on this album so much lmfao. or not even that much, but enough for me to come back and say this album is fucking sick.
i love this album very much. she's so talented, and she makes me feel a lot. she's grown as an artist so much. this is defo better than fsf or gmam, by a LONG SHOT.
the elevator- 90: this could be longer, but it's such a cute little opener. the band are proving themselves to be a worthy addition on this track. ... read more
if the rest of the album is as good as this single this is going to be the aoty. idc
this album is truly a banger. some weaker tracks (the last time we never meet again, sublime and glint come to mind) aside, this is a really really good album. her vocals are amazing! the massive moments, to me, are the best- knights, my name is dancing, escaper and knights were my favourites. these songs are beautifully crafted
i do not get the hype around this album. it’s fine. it’s reasonably inoffensive. i do love billie very much, but trying to top happier than ever with incredibly guitar heavy taylor swift-esque pop is not the move. after ‘what was i made for’ i was really hoping for the most mature billie yet, but this was dull. there are some great tracks, but for an album of only 10 songs, it’s very underwhelming that these are the tracks she put on it.

i always come back to this album. its so good. man is beautiful and warm, touch tank is fun, get what u get is one of my fav songs ever, better is uncomfortable in a good way. i just love this album. the whole thing is so warm, like youre 9 chatting with a friend under a duvet at a sleepover. some of the songs failed to get my attention (security question, itch), but i love the hope and trust shes imbued in the album
