Charli xcx - Brat and it's completely different but also still brat

under-appreciated

I love this album. It definitely has flops but the highs are high for me. And the concept is just cool to me that it saves it.

A lot of the songs have this somewhat indietronica atmosphere that’s really nostalgic in some way. I hope (and feel) she’s gonna explore on her next project

Skrillex, PinkPantheress & Trippie Redd - Way Back
NR

Probs would’ve been obsessed w this if trippie red didn’t sound stupid. Mama had to reuse the rhythm and progression on another song

Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time

Little mini review.
Love this album, lots and lots of good songs but is a wee bit overrated and suffers from some lyrical repetitiveness. Like goddam there are not a lot of lyrics in these songs, j the same ones over and over. And I will also say, the songs that are not good, are not. good.
But anyways, it’s a good pop rock(?) album w some distorted synth and beats every once and a while. If you like that kinda shit id recommend

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
NR

After listening a couple times over the course of like 2 days, my initial impression is that this project is a bump up in maturity for Tyler with a more muted tone in comparison to his other albums. It’s not really that the production is lackluster or subtle, it’s just not a main focus of the album, which was partly dissapointing personally cus Tyler’s production is what makes him special to me, but there is still so much quality in here that it after a minute I’m not ... read more

SOPHIE - SOPHIE

Sophie’s self titled album isn’t absolutely terrible, but there’s little to no interesting moments, and any possibility of an appealing song tends to have multiple factors effecting it’s final product. The album sounds like a bootleg, or as I heard said, an AI version of the sound Sophie spent her musical life growing that gets so cliche it ends up coming off satirical at points. Since it’s release I’ve found myself going back over and over again, not really ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet

(5/18/25) I over exaggerated the genericness of this album. It’s definitely got personality and the production is still really fun and addicting. I don’t think I would change the rating, i was j dtm then

(9/3/24) The project has grown on me with more listens, but I still feel pretty similar. Well made sonically but feel a little disposable at points, and unoriginal at others. But still enjoyable, if your into it.

I wanna like it more than I do. I hope it grows on me bcus there are moments I enjoy, but quavos entrance ruins it. Wish he stayed in the lower ocave the whole song…

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine

A really personal and heartfelt album that struggles with a bit of genericism and unoriginality. At the end of the day, even with the boring production, Ariana’s vision feels very strong, and overall she seemed very passionate about this album, but the execution didn’t always relay the same energy. I’m my personal opinion, this is also her least impressive album vocally. She sounds wonderful as always but in general her voice is more muted and her vocal choices and composition ... read more

LISA - Rockstar
NR

SO FUN! Such good production! I am NON-STOP DANCING TO THIS SONG! The lyrics are a step up from the average BP lyrics (imo) but still have room for improvement. But the lines like “make your favorite singer wanna rap” just feel smooth and iconic in a way that doesn’t feel as forceful with other kpop.

Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY
NR

idk what to rate it. Not as bad as ppl r saying but also her worst album. Something abt the vocals are brain numbing, probably because the Melodie’s are so stale it doesn't give her a chance to sound compelling. pfffffff

Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
96

Lana’s best behind nfr. NFRs consistency isn’t here but it’s replaced w twice the intimacy. The album feels like an entrance into her train of thought. It’s soft and emotional but still finds away to be cinematic and captivating. I do feel this album is definitely more catered towards her audience in its content than her other projects, but her genuineness wins it over for me. Either way this album I believe welcomes us into Lana’s mind after 10 years of being in ... read more

Janelle Monáe - Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase)
NR

First Listen:
Compelling vision with an enjoyable energy. I can see what she was going for and it feels like a great introduction to her as an artist (I'm coming from hearing a couple of songs on Age of Pleasure). This project has grown my interest in Janelle as an artist and what she has to offer. Her vocals are the immediate thing that catches my attention, and she sounds great. The production at points is underwhelming, but I guess that's not the main focus of the album. All of the core ... read more
