One of my favorite albums to exist. I've never got into Death Cab for Cuties but decided to check The Postal Services album out a few years ago and I instantly fell in love with it. It radiates with an innocence yet has very sharp writing. Indietronica never felt so emo-adjacent before and it mashes beautifully well.
I don't like the term guilty pleasure. But if I really needed to say something is mine, it would be this.
I genuinely love the vibe this album is going for and it's instrumentation is just very catchy. Here comes the guilty pleasure part. Some of the lyricism is very on the nose and sometimes feels childish, but it somehow fits a lot.
While it does overstay its welcome a little, it is still packed with fun and interesting tracks that feel very Cyberpunk-y. It is a fun project with a coherent feel to it. Especially it's choppy parts feel interesting, even tho they're not always executed perfectly.
As someone who found out about Caffeinecrvsh with when your dreams die this record doesn't have much of the feels the album, I named has. It still keeps being melancholic and beautiful at times but very often stays rather typical for it's genre.
Von Wegen Lisbeth made a very confusing album to me. It is sweet, soft and summery for it's release date. The lyricism keeps being very relatable but special at the same time.
Yet, almost none of the songs really stood out to me. It is a sweet listen from time to time, but no special breakout.
Very underrated Prog-Rock album, I love to call Psychedelic-Emo, since it still is very Diary SDRE but holds a melancholic, almost ethereal vibe. Does it keep the soft-to-harsh instrumentation their other albums are known for? Not really, but that's what makes it stand out to me. It is beautiful in it's instrumentation and Jeremys Vocals shine here the most.
