Must've been insane when it came out considering the political topics it's talking about, but it talks about 2015 politics so it was relevant 11 years ago, listening to this in 2026 feels outdated, even if I gotta recognize the songs themselves are well produced.
This feels more like a mix-tape than an actual LP, considering the amount of different genres you can find in it, regardless of that most of the songs in this album are good and are worth listening to, I feel like Joji tried many styles where his vocal performances could fit and there are very interesting attempts, like Sojourn, LOVE YOU LESS or PIXELATED KISSES. even the songs where it's not entirely experimental you can find very very good songs like Past Won't Leave My Bed. This is a shame when you know how good its prequel was. how can you fail so badly, I almost fell asleep listening to this album for the first time (because yeah I gave it multiple chances and I regret a lot) most of the songs have no energy and it's not even building up anything it just feels like a mess
The instrumental is perfect, got absolutely nothing to say about it, you know it's from very experienced and skilled artists, but the about the vocals, well they lack of energy, in a lot of songs you'll notice the instrumental more than the vocals so the vocals might seem too much on some songs, I'd still recommend the album though
Tyler was more reckless with this album, I never thought I'd actually laugh to music but here we are, obviously this album isn't as powerful as what he usually does but that's fine considering the fact that he took another direction with this one, the direction being... well a funnier one I would say.
