Today is the happiest day of the year for music nerds!, yes Black Midi just released a new album today... The awaited "Hellfire", by this incredibly talented English band that teased this release with singles like Eat Men Eat or Welcome to Hell. I've never really got into this band, but I saw the release of this new LP as an opportunity to do so. Before getting into this review I just wanted to ask: am I the only one that gets flashbacks of Mr. Bungle while listening to this band?, I can't be the only one.

While this band is known for being an extra complex one with a lot of crazy arrangements. There are also some quite simple and subtle parts that for me just give the extra touch for this album to be really neat. For example the intro of Eat Men Eat and the track Still, which both have some pretty nice harmonies backed up by a cool acoustic guitar.

So Manuel did you like this album?, yes, but I do think that this band in general is pretty overrated. I mean I see some people state this group as one of the best one's and their albums to be benchmarks and musical statements that make this band better than their contemporaries. I still think this album and band is great in general tho, but I just wanted to clear that I'm not so like big of a fan of this.

In Conclusion, Black Midi good and everything else bad. Just messing with y'all. Overall I thought that this album showed a collection of very cool tracks that flowed consistently into one another. The performance and delivery by this guys is also top class. Peace Out y'all, I'm so tired of reviewing.
