Tame Impala has managed to create an absolutely beautiful and out of this world experience with this album. This is the first time I have listened to a full length project from them, and now I'm questioning why I haven't checked them out sooner. The synths on this thing are some of the most beautiful loops I have heard on any album, and the whole 80s synth pop / psychedelic rock aesthetic fits the subject matter so well. I think a really underrated aspect of this album is the subject matter and overarching themes. How the beginning of this project is Kevin reflecting on a broken relationship, and then changing into a new person starting halfway through the album was genius, especially in the way that it's conveyed. Kevin's vocals are crisp on each track, and does not have a mediocre or bad performance. The lyrics aren't anything crazy but they don't need to be. They got the story across in a great way. The one very picky downside I have with this is I think some of the instrumentation drags a little bit towards the end. I will definitely be getting this on vinyl soon, and I suggest this album to literally anybody. I hope everybody will listen to this project, and get a positive experience out of it.
