cathartic, emotionally resonant and deeply depressing.
this album was my first exposure to CSH and from the energetic, heavy instrumentation of Beach Life-In-Death- as Will screams about not wanting schizophrenia, not wanting to go insane- to the dark, relaxing but empty High To Death, Will's vocals stand out here, as having a depressed yet emotional delivery.

extremely danceable, the tight drums and bass don't drown out the synth-scapes as much as they did on Sound of Silver.
the songwriting is very well structured and has a great ebb and flow.
i dont like murphy's delivery on a lot of the tracks. i understand what he is trying, but it comes off as grating and distracting more often than not. the lyrics are generally passable.
