A quick witted Symphonic avant grade black metal album. Powered with quick tempo of instruments, this album try to push you into running marathon with their tempo. But, sometimes it will make you felt very tired and gasping for breath. Every track followed every structure that build the blueprint of this album. As always, Mastodon showed us how industrial-symphonic whatever metal Brent Hinds was. They really do great work to showcase how beast they are. Eventho its a Symphonic Metal album, they don't stuck with one type of voice. Instead, they do try everything to make this album better. My favorite song in here are Capillarian Chest and Bladecatcher. For this album, best if we listening track by track from the beginning till the end, because this album has intertwined track one of another.
