Sungazer - Cool 7

Cool 7 - 73

Great melody, drumlines are refined and have a fascinating idea behind them, similar to the drumming in Macchina. There's also this really good and interesting electric guitar section, but you know what not cool? The climax of this song. The halfway mark cools down from the previous 2 minutes and starts at a plateau. It builds to the finale from there. Very cool in concept, but the execution brings some really over-the-top heavy electric guitar and ridiculous saxophone ... read more

Against the Fall of Night - 87

Great start, which goes into this very active verse section with a fantastic background. The 1st chorus is nice, it starts off like a lullaby of sorts, but then gets sort of completed into the full thing. Verse 2 is even more active, and gets me amped for the 2nd chorus - which starts off suddenly and surprisingly at full force. From then on it's almost 2 minutes of terrific music! It definitely got boosted from the climax and the very nicely fitting ending.

Threshold - 93

Some of the best, most interesting, well-executed ideas so far for any song I've ever heard. 19-tuplets are exceedingly rare, innovative, and especially cool. The Japanese wind instrument shakuhachi, both tame and intense drumming, broad piano chords, all kinds of arpeggios, and synths all form this cohesive, ingenious, incredibly captivating masterpiece!

Again, phenomenal ideas. The best drums title now goes to Macchina. The pretty ... read more

Drunk - 49
This song's main idea is drunk drumming, which is to delay the hi-hats and some other stuff (which makes it sound like the music is drunk), and I don't really like it. Other than that, the chord progression isn't very interesting, and it has a fairly good ewi solo around the middle, and most of it is really boring to listen to. Overall it's not very good, I don't like listening to it all that much.

Sequence Start - 85
This tune has way too much style. Stellar basslines, very good ideas, fantastic melodies all around. Quintuplet swing is absolutely awesome, and is obviously incredibly implemented. A lot of well-utilized momentum. It'd be remarkable if it were longer and more fleshed out, but sadly, it isn't.

Dream of Mahjong - 61
It's a bit boring. Some good ideas, but it's just not very engaging to me. The chorus sounds like a way worse ... read more

Etudes II

Where We Left Off Etude - 80
Starts off nice and slow, with an artistically slightly confusing melody since there isn't any backing to help in guiding. It slowly evolves and crescendos beautifully.

Indie-Rock (Two-Finger) Etude - 74
It doesn't do much at the start, but the latter half is actually really cool with some really interesting piano riffs.

Triad Etude - 83
The harmonies and the juggling of 5/4 meter with some 4/4 and and a few 3/4 measures in fantastic and a ... read more

Etudes

Etude in 2nds - 55
This etude is exclusively played with second intervals. Of course it is that's what its name is. Anyway, it has an interesting premise but it delivers barely interesting melodies that end up sounding like musical gibberish, from the nature of exclusively using seconds.

Blues Etude - 76
Concisely, it has a really interesting ever-changing melody with a very fitting and stylish bass piano backing.

Etudes in 5ths - 71
Very slow, methodical harmonies that go ... read more

Moon Waltz (Piano Version) - 100

This is my personal favorite between both versions of Moon Waltz. The beginning is the verse section but without lyrics. The stanzas are split into 2 - intense and metrically complicated intersecting harmonies & melodies, and captivating metrically even arpeggios section. The verses also have incredible lyrics and stunning vocal delivery by Bora Karaca. The bridge is the final stop before the 2nd and last chorus, it has jazzy chords, measured drumming, and ... read more
