sour is an album to listen to while sitting on a bench in a beautiful park while your ice cream melts in your hand. i first listened to olivia when "vampire" released, and going to this after listening to guts for the first time was an interesting experience, but pleasantly surprising! i think although yeah you can guess the themes of heartbreak and betrayal that fills the album, this is like a teenage magnum opus, you can hear the pain in her voice in half of the songs and the rage she feels in the other half, which merge together to create a narrative ultimately about a girl who could never really move on.
