Pretty good album! People on this website are weird, and beyond pretentious… like this might be the only site ever seen where users consistently give worse reviews than critics.
Also, what’s up with all the Jack Antonoff hate I’m seeing? Dude’s produced some of the best pop music of the last decade. People should really learn to enjoy things.
My experience with pretty much every Kendrick album:
1st Listen: This is so different. Not what I expected. Idk how I feel about it.
2nd Listen: I think I like this. Good vibes.
3rd Listen: THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE.

"@NoSleepThug I mean, art is subjective, so that’s a fair take to have, but it’s better than almost everything on the Big Day IMO, and lyrically it’s a pretty thoughtful exploration of black pain while still being a fun song. I do think it’s in the bottom 5 on this album, but that’s not a bad thing for me b/c I also think like 10 of the songs here could go up against any of the best songs Chance has ever written, particularly No More Old Men, The Negro Problem, Letters, and Just a Drop."

"The fact that you refer to Tree as having “a dogshit reggae sample” not realizing that the entire song is interpolation of Video by India Arie (one of the all time great R&B songs) tells me all I need to know. I’ll forgive the complete lack of knowledge of music history though since you were like 6 years old when 10 Day came out."
