I wasn’t expecting to like this album as much as I do.
I figured it would be one of those things that critics love, but it’s not fun to listen to. I was wrong. This album is wholly experimental and obsessive. The guitar kicks ass, and all the while the lyrics and vocal performance is dreamy and addictive.
Backbreaker specifically is a super progressive, rock focused song that is just a brilliant display of songwriting and exemplary for psych as a genre
Right now, this is my favourite of 2026
EDIT: After listening to The Mountain - Gorillaz, this is no longer my favourite of 2026
