I’m going to come out and say I am not the biggest fan of the folk vibes present on a lot of these tracks. I’ve never been big on folk, but I’ll still admit that they were still at least passable.
The most notable thing on here is easily Echoes, with One Of These Days being a somehow distant second despite how good it is. Echoes has potential to be the best song ever made, or at least top 10. The first ten minutes or so is really chill to listen to, and a lot of great writing is seen. About halfway, and for the next quarter ish of the song, it falls into something much darker and lonelier. Following it is 5+ minutes of rising, climactic instrumental, which leads into the final, beautiful act of the song. Perfect song writing.
Unfortunately, the rest of the album falls a little flat.
