Maybe the most over hated album of the year? It’s certainly not PEAK IMPALA, but still a very good time in my opinion.
I do at least agree with the haters in the sense that I also don’t hold it to be anywhere near as good as Kevin’s previous 2 albums. “The Slow Rush” & ESPECIALLY “Currents” are two of my favourite albums of all time, whereas “Deadbeat” ain’t even gonna make my top 10 record of 2025, ... read more

That album took several listens before I finally started to consider it one of my top 5 favourite albums of 2024. With “Breach” on the other hand, I was immediately pretty confident that it would top my year end list. It ... read more

While definitely a little bit of a downgrade, it’s still a super solid follow up to their debut.
For those not in the know, Shadow Academy is a two piece band consisting of long time producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Jim Roach, alongside the man who makes up one half of the face of the incredibly popular “Game Grumps” youtube channel, Dan Avidan. So yes, what we have here is actual proof youtubers CAN make good music if they try hard ... read more
