2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole - Review
So here's another attempt for a good review, this time it is 2014 Forest Hill Drive.
I've never got warm with J. Cole, many people said he's the most overrated rapper of this generation and I just wasn't attracted by a less good Kenny. But today on a long drive I looked at what I had not listened and saw 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
The intro gives really dramatic and epic vibes, so I was ready for a ride à la TPAB. January ... read more
Revolver by The Beatles - Review
This is hard to write. Such a great record with so different cuts and no skips.
1. Taxman
Funky instrumetal and cool storytelling. It is really groovy and an excellent start to the record with a great riff but the song is not very variable, a 83.
2. Eleanor Rigby
100.
3. I'm Only Sleeping
Love the indian influenced tune and the vocals are top tier. A adorable track, a 93.
4. Love You To
This song has also an oriental intro, with many instruments ... read more
SMILE! :D by Porter Robinson- Review
This is the first Porter Robinson record I'm hearing, so I am excited. And the cover is great!
1. Knock Yourself Out XD
90/100
The Track SLAPS! It is not complicated and not dumb, just fun. That is everything that needs to be said, so a 90.
PS: The instrumental is great!
2. Cheerleader
70/100
This track is just like the first one about the fans and their "addiction". The instrumental is good but the first one better and it is a bit too long ... read more
Three Imaginery Boys by The Cure- Review
I will review my favourite records of The Cure's catalog, starting with this one.
1. 10:15 Saturday Night
90/100
In this song sits the narrator lonely in the kitchen sink and cries for yesterday. But the music slaps! This is pure post-punk and indie as it can be. It is repetetive, but it creates so a catchy rhythm and Smith's voice makes me float. The riff slaps too, just a great song, a 90.
2. Accuracy
65/100
It is minimalistic but still ... read more
BRAT by Charlie xcx- Review
I know I am hella late with my review but I never felt the need to review this record (I am not 24/7 on partys).
But it is BRAT time, so I need to acknowledge that.
1. 360
81/100
The lyrics are on point but a bit empty ( Charli is an icon and great, lalalalalalala it goes on and on).
As a dance track, this is a good opener and the chorus is great, so a 81.
2. Club classics
84/100
THIS is just one of the best dance tracks I have heard (I have not heard many), the ... read more
Review- Illmatic by Nas
This is a hard review. I don't want to disrespect Nas but I want still go not biased in the record, cause I've never listened it to it in a full session. I know obviously the famous tracks but this gonna be fun! Let's go!!!
1. The Genesis
68/100
This is basically just the brother of Nas and some friends talking about a fire beat about the thug life. The track sets the tone but nothing more. Lyrically this is a reproduction of a movie called "Wild ... read more
Review- Rubber Soul
1. Drive My Car 91/100
This is a love and sex blues with dumb and teeny lyrics but it still makes so much fun,
Paul gives everything at the mic and the whole instrumental is soooo catchy. Its still kitschy but very funny, I enjoyed this very much, so 91/100.
2. Nowegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) ... read more
Review- Jar of Flies by Alice in Chains
1. Rotten Apple 90/100
Layne writes here diabolic about his drug addiction, so good lyrisicm but nothing special. BUT MUSICALLY we've got a lot of great stuff. The whole instrumentak gives me chills and Layne has this naturally melodic feeling that I love. His vocals are preety strong here, and the track doesn't lose any charm throughout ... read more
