Crypt had one thing going for him back in the day, and that was his cover arts / visuals. The cover art for buried alive was its only saving grace and his music videos had a lot of effort into them even if it was misguided and corny. This ai bullshit honestly puts him in bottom of the barrel artist category.
Not a lot to say about this project, it's a collection of demos from an artist yet to discover three minute songs after all, but there's some cool ideas here, and the rawness and heaviness in some of these songs is refreshing after some of Glaive's more cleaned up, poppy and polished stuff. Can't rate this too high because the songs are basically all short ideas, but this is a really enjoyable demo collection. jb cover is a weird choice but it's cool ig.

He a bit of an inconsistent one, but he's got the mad spirit.
Edit: After having sat with this EP for a week or so now, I find it a weird point in Glaive's journey as a musician, because it barely feels finished, and in fact song structure has regressed from his debut where all the songs were at least built out and complete, but I really think that from this point Glaive is gonna get a lot better and more ambitious in his work, especially if he works with similar people who can push him to ... read more
I like a few songs on here but fuck Ye and fuck this album and it's disgusting lyrics, awful aesthetics and rollout, and anyone who stands behind Ye as a person at this point. To be fair to it, some of the beats are okay, interesting, and Ty does a decent job because he's a great vocalist, but all over this thing Ye proves he's so out of touch, washed up and lazy and it cancels out any good will this record might have had.
Oh Cudi. I'm afraid I just don't understand your incredibly mediocre turn-up album... I guess that makes me a fake fan. Deary me. At least I'm not missing out on much.
Getting it out the way: I have a lot of respect for Cudi and have enjoyed so much of his music in the past even some of the bad stuff, but he's always had a tendency to go out on a limb and sometimes it just doesn't turn out great, however, the mark of a great artist is being able to learn and know when something doesn't work, ... read more
This song is crazy overhated maybe people heard it too much but it's so damn catchy and charismatic, love the easygoing vibe while keeping it a banger. It's interesting this was Eric's first release after 'things with wings' and I can see how people would be a little disappointed considering this has such a basic structure and everything, but it's a cool little song.
Ericdoa, hyper pop superstar waiting to happen, has an extensive history of music before his breakout project COA and mainstream follow-ups, and the most interesting thing about all of them are honestly how regular and uninteresting they sound, this project included. This counts as an album, but this is probably one of the projects that Eric would call a 'project' or an EP, which is understandable because aside from the intro (That is honestly a little up it's own ass about the importance of ... read more
EP REVIEW:
I don't have many thoughts about this project honestly, which is weird considering it comes from one of my favourite artists and one of the most interesting cases of career fumbling I've ever seen (The second one is Glaive obviously), but generally this is some easy going hyper trap that you would expect either one of them to do well enough on their own, though at the time they would do it similarly well, so there really isn't much separation between their approaches to the songs ... read more
Coming from a 15 year old Glaive fresh off signing with Interscope records, Cypress Grove is Glaive's best project by far and a real showcase of his abilities as a singer and writer, the latter of which is really strong and feels complete against his other works that feel so formulaic and amateur by comparison - Here the songs have direct structures, memorable lines and it doesn't seem like he's dicking around at any point, even if the 'woe is me' angle comes around uncomfortably ... read more
Glaive's debut album has been a point of contention in the underground, bordering-mainstream style of indie / hyper pop music we all seemed to be obsessed with in 2020, and the reason why I guess is that it's not that sound at all. Despite being a star in the making in the hyper pop genre, and with a couple of EPs and loads of singles in that direction, Glaive (or i guess his label) decided that he needed to become a rockstar, a pop-punk artist.
And god, is it a disappointment.

SHORT REVIEW:
21 Savage's latest and greatest (lol) was something I really wanted to love. After a couple of great modern trap records, and showstopping but occasionally predictable features, 21 has built up one hell of a name for himself, and after giving this album a listen or two, I can only question why this album was released.
It isn't bad, in fact I'd say the first leg is pretty good, but I've heard these songs before, 21 isn't doing anything new; the production is familiar, flows are ... read more
Easily my favourite album so far this year; Eric's my recent obsession artist and this project couldn't have come at a better time. The singles were fantastic, which isn't surprising because Eric can normally carry a single or at least a hook really well, but even then, 'dancingwithsomebawdy' stands out for its groove and infectious melodies, probably his best song yet. 'kickstand' was also a fun one, and it's an instance where the short length Eric insists on works perfectly, making the song ... read more
