椎名林檎 [Ringo Sheena] - 勝訴ストリップ [Winning Strip]
96

one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded

Jessie Ware - Superbloom
95

this album is freaking AWESOME. there are basically no bad songs on this. it's insanely danceable, groovy, and incredibly fun and mature the whole way through.

favs: i could get used to this, superbloom, automatic, mr. valentine, love you for, don't you know who i am?, 16 summers, no consequences, mon amour
middling: sauna
least favorite: ride

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
40

i'm sorry i really just don't get the hype, this album did nothing for me and i was kinda bored the whole way through. beat up chanel$ and crank are fine i guess though. yes goddd a bit too. but yeah no this is in a similar situation to HALO for me in that it's just not really for me

Candy Claws - Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time
100

the most beautiful album art i've ever seen accompanied by the most immersive music i've ever heard telling one of the most unique and genuinely cool stories for a concept album i've ever seen

My New Band Believe - My New Band Believe
70

a strange and intriguing listen. however, i fear that some of the compositions tend to meander and lose some melodic/harmonic interest, though the general idea of the album is really good.

favs: target practice, love story, opposite teacher, actress

underscores - U
95

underscores's third album is unsurprisingly fantastic.

peak: lovefield
favorites: music, hollywood forever, the peace, innuendo (i get u), do it, wish u well

Angine de Poitrine - Vol.II

The Strokes - Going Shopping
50

this is so fucking boring and not very good they should've stopped at the new abnormal... my strokes... what have they done to you

Tiffany Day - HALO

This album feels like a lackluster blend of post-hyperpop and BRAT aesthetics, mixed with some stuff that feels like Ninajirachi. That’s not to say every song is bad—far from it, actually—but with the interesting emotional premise of the first track leading into the most boring EDM track I’ve ever heard, I’m afraid this album just bores me with its songwriting and repetitive nature. However, the last four tracks seriously tie it back together in a pretty good way, ... read more

유키카 [YUKIKA] - 서울여자 [SOUL LADY]
80

this album is actually super awesome man what the hell? i love city-pop and this korean album (by a japanese woman???) stays so faithful to the genre and its influences while feeling modern and fresh. and guess what? the songs are catchy as all hell. they capture the dreamy smoothness of city pop perfectly. this album is genuinely fantastic. (marked for relisten)

Joji - Piss In The Wind
30

this nothingburger of an album is a pain to sit through with most of its barely 2 minute songs mostly sounding the exact same. sure there are some highlights but for 21 tracks this is just not very good unfortunately

ずっと真夜中でいいのに。 [ZUTOMAYO] - 潜潜話 [Hisohiso Banashi]
93

at times overwhelming but genuinely one of the best j-pop/j-rock/yakousei projects ever made in my opinion. ZUTOMAYO seriously got me into j-pop and this kinda style of music so i have them to thank for a lot of personal inspiration musically. i've listened to this album to be clear, it just took me a long time to get to rating it lmao

favs: nouriueno cracker, kan saete kuyashiiwa, inemuri enseitai, haze haseru haterumade, kettobashita moufu, dear. mr"f", konnakoto soudou, ... read more

Gorillaz - The Mountain

favs: rum pum pum pum, shadow, pretty girl, kick, signal, goodbye summer, airplane, toy, no more, ending page (iirc)
least favorite: step

Jamie Paige - Constant Companions
85

absolutely incredible album!!! this is literally right up my freaking alley. electropop/indietronica with vocaloid elements!!!??? machine love is one of the best songs i've ever heard lmao???

Bruno Mars - The Romantic
50

it's classic bruno mars; that is to say, it's fine! it's great radio music and he certainly still has hits but i fear nothing here is incredibly standout tbh. it's not bad, at least, and it's definitely passable. it's bruno mars. what do you expect?

Pat Metheny - Side-Eye III+
90

a seriously excellent jazz fusion record. more AOTY users need to get on this tbh... in on it, don't look down, and make a new world hit so hard back to back. just incredible front to back tbh like this is incredible. least favorite track is urban and western but overall this is an insanely smooth listen

The Beatles - Revolver
70

just kinda felt overall pleasant? maybe lower than a 70 tbh. marked for relisten

ODD EYE CIRCLE - Max & Match
60

better than i thought but it's pretty hit or miss tbh? marked for relisten.
