The lyricism here is actually peak and mixed with the instrumentals it has an almost dream-like quality to it. This is the pinnacle of Midwest emo and I'm not even kidding.
It's decent for what it is, but breakcore is just personally not my thing. I did find a lot of the sampling funny though, and track 3 has the best name for any song.
Holy shit.
Even in the early days of The Grievance Club, they were still releasing genre defying music that changes the way I look at song writing.
The lyrics here are so interesting and insanely fun to analyse. This verse in particular stands out to me;
But a sword undrawn is just dead weight,
and I can't reconcile the shame.
In between the ivory, I am inevitably between
my mind and the words that I eat.
When I hear something like that, what I think about is the mask we sometimes wear when ... read more
Honestly, some of these songs are my biggest guilty pleasures lol. I love the sort of twisted-circus vibe to this project, and both Scott SK and DempseyRollBoy do a fantastic job in the songs they're featured in. Somewhere Over the Chem trails might be my favorite DEMONDICE song honestly, and Devil's Barfight is awesome as well. I do have a problem with the volume of certain tracks though; sometimes they are TOO QUIET! Devil's Barfight is super quiet, which sucks because it has some of the ... read more
I love Stella and Break Your Little Heart, a lot of the others were fun to vibe to, and then some were just meh. The fact I am not saying the names of the other songs kinda goes to show that this isn't all that memorable compared to other ATL projects.
Too much was the low point for me
Stella was the best
Guys, please I need help. All I can think about is Snake Eyes. I tried watching G.I. Joe last week, and the second that cool ninja guy came on screen and they said his name I almost lost my shit. I rolled a pair of dice once, got a 2, and started crying uncontrollably in the corner of my room. I was in church this Sunday, the pastor said "Jesus" to which I yelled "JESUS JAPANESUS". I am slowly losing my mind and it is all thanks to this song. Thank you 2017 DEMONDICE.

The cover of Chicago is so Two Years Ago is like 1000x better than the original in my opinion.
Outta my Head and Just Sound are aight.
Yall, this shit fun as hell.
Obviously Dear Maria is the highlight here, but Come One Come All and Remembering Sunday are killer as well! All the others, thought nothing extraordinary, are still good!
"ツキ" is easily the best track here and if this were a single, it would get like a 94.
Overall not bad at all, aside from "Shinobitxx" being a bit mediocre.
He has generally good flow and some of the songs (particularly Fighting Spirit for me,) really do have a nice bass line and sound to them. But then there comes songs like "Sunflower Samurai" which really just don't work for me. I see potential though, and am interested in seeing how he has changed in his recent work. Some of the other featured artists do have enjoyable sections which I vibe to as well.
Edit:(66->75) I must have been deaf because Sunflower Samurai slaps. Also HE ... read more
It's sort of hard to describe what exactly I like about this one. Something about the combination of the vocal effects and beat make this a very satisfying listen. The chorus itself is also pretty well written and has a nice sort of rythem to it. Does not break any barriers, but still pretty good in terms of electro-swing type beats.
There are many things wrong with this song. Many. You could say its terrible because its aged about as well as cat piss floating in a bucket of dry milk. You could say its because the instrumentals are ear-bleeding horrible. You could also say its horrible for the single lyric that repeats for three minutes, which will be the longest three minutes of your entire life. I say above all, is this song fails in every single aspect. It isnt even good at making an attempt at the already unfunny ... read more
So many delightfully fun tracks in this one, and listened the hell out of it a few years back. Forget My Name, My Friends Over You, and It's Been A Summer are some of the best when it comes to 2000s skater-punk, however many tracks just barely miss the mark. Never Give Up, The Great Houdini, and Belated all suffer from having great instrumentals, but lyrics that honestly just don't work for what they are trying to go for. Overall, I love this album, but I wont say its perfect. Still, the things ... read more
