shazza - MIDNIGHT
95

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard this year. I picture myself on the train late at night, just gazing at the window as the train zooms past.
The gorgeous instrumental, lovely vocals, great features, addictive kick drum, and the overall vibe of this song make me replay it over and over again.

shazza definitely has a lot of potential. This song deserves WAYY more recognition. 💙

David Bowie - Space Oddity

Can you hear me major Tom? Can you hear me major Tom…

Listening to this with earphones makes me genuinely feel like I’m floating around in space, knowing that my spaceship’s going to explode, but still marvelling at the wonders and mysteries of outer space. Can’t help but get a little teary-eyed each time I listen to this song.

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
86

It’s not meant to be concept-heavy like igor or chromakopia, but that doesn’t make it any less of a banger album. The vibe itself is the concept.
Like Tyler said, “no sitting still”. I love that Tyler just decided to experiment and have fun with this project, not taking it too seriously, but still putting out an awesome record.

Super vibey production and flows from Tyler. Really liked the features on here too! Heavenly vocals from Madison McFerrin and Yebba, added a lot ... read more

Chi-town what’s going on?

Lola Amour - Love On Loop

From the title alone, I formed the idea that the concept would be about a relationship and its failures, and helplessly falling out of and in love like a never ending cycle. I enjoyed the story-telling of the album, especially how the first track was titled “The End”, which contained a snippet from the very last track “Love On Loop”, implying falling back into the cycle of a (tragic) love story. I also liked the features on the album, namely on “The Moment” ... read more

In my opinion the best sunkissed lola song. Deserves A LOT more attention 🙏

Quadeca - SCRAPYARD
93

Incredibly versatile, don’t know how quad does it. As a rap and indie enjoyer, this mixtape is such a fun listen. If I were to recommend a quadeca album to a non-listener, it’d def be scrapyard. I find it very listenable, and it’s just a fun record without a heavy concept, where quad just showcases his creativity and flexibility.
Could listen for hours on loop and never get bored. This record always blows my mind whenever I come back to it. When I listen to music, I’m ... read more
