Basic Being Basic

this is my first rating of anything official, and I am doing it in the middle of class so please excuse me if its a poor analysis, but I actually quite enjoy this song. As a slightly above average music consumer trying to learn to branch out, I have listen to all of Djo’s DECIDE album and I enjoyed it for the most part, but it had a lot of nuance and experimental sounds and song choices. This in no way is a bad thing, but it necessitates a little bit more time to understand and or appreciate the music. in this new single, its a little more toned back and digestible while also keeping an artistic flare. It has a strong use of percussion, synth, and texture. The vocals are crisp and on point and the message, although humorous at times, actually seems to have real depth to it. I think that my main issues, or possible questions are that some of the lyrics seem a little on the nose and or without meaning and that the song really does end as the instrumental begins to pick up. No doubt that these are by design, but it does leave a whole in some ways. Anyway, I enjoyed the song and I preordered the album on tape. Support artists, especially good ones like Djo. PEACE BYE!
