I’m aware that many singer-songwriters pour their blood, sweat, and tears into creating their most intimate, personal, and emotional works. Yet few could ever come close to capturing the same level of vulnerability and rawness that Adrianne Lenker conveys in her music. I don’t know what type of magic she uses but it works wonders on every single song. Some more tender than others, some lyrically vulnerable, some sonically beautiful, it’s just straightforward amazing work.

Listened to this because of the grammy win, I think the album is great but this is definitely not 2024 AOTY.

Running for almost 90 minutes and having a pretty solid track list is impressive. Usually when albums have over 15 songs they already start to get lost in the sauce.
