this might be the single best album ive heard this year, theres so much to digest here and every single time ive listened to it thus far , my jaw has been on the floor the entire time. some parts leave me physically uncomfortable (which an album has never done before) and some parts are so mindblowingly intense that it almost crosses into pure absurdity, but it keeps you hooked.
GOD FUCKING DAMN i can never get tired of this band. i dont even know how to describe how heavy this shit is. just listen to it, youll see.
i will forever stand by mortal decay having the strongest demo releases out of any band that has ever existed or that will ever exist. incredibly groovy and refined sound even on their second demo, mortal decay delivers an incredibly tasteful and memorable brutal death metal ep, with every single song being entirely unique from the last while still being incredibly coherent and well comprised. frog vocals, dissonant and dance-y guitar work, AUDIBLE BASS, and punchy and impactful drumming. in ... read more
absolutely flawless record, Orchidectomy is a band thats held in extremely high regard by brutal death fans and slam fans alike, for very good reason. the songwriting itself is an absolute masterclass in technicality while not losing any of its actual musical substance, its a slopping whirlwind of flesh tearing riffs loaded with grooves, blistering speed, and an attitude that will probably leave you either blown the fuck away or wondering what the hell you just listened to on a first spin. even ... read more
absolutely unbelievable ep. this degree of experimentation while somehow still keeping a foot firmly planted in its brutal roots is entirely unprecedented for me, jazzy and esoteric, but also gory, maniacal and purely fucking brutal. it somehow doesnt get too lost in its experimentation OR its more brutal death elements, its got one hand in both bags of candy and its screaming fuck you to anyone who says they cant have both.
Encenathrakh is one of those bands that i hold on the same level that i do bands like enmity ; theres this sort of mysticism about them that makes you wonder what the fuck could compel someone to take part in the creation of something so unbelievably brutal and unrelenting. the fact that this is an ENTIRE ALBUM worth of genuinely unfathomable and unthinkably brutal shit is extremely impressive, and a feat that should be commemorated by anyone who can get behind this in literally any capacity.
possibly my favorite album ever, every single time I come back to it (at least once a week for the past year at this rate), I find more and more reasons to absolutely fall in love with it. it's brutal , relentless , atmospheric , and extremely cohesive to tie it all together.
maybe I'm missing something but this just doesn't do much for me. Shaun Whittaker is cool though, clearly talented dude.
partly responsible for getting me into brutal death metal ! v sick record.
CoDC are an absolute powerhouse of a band which unfortunately doesn't exist anymore, but in the period of time they were managed to release some of the most deranged and punishing music I think has ever graced my ear drums. pure esoteric madness that pushes and pulls and forces you into a corner while repeatedly bashing you in the head with a fucking rock. I like it.
