OK, but not top poperpop

The Greenberry Woods - It's All Good, Sugar...

it's strange, the music sounds just like 1992, but I'm not 22 anymore. Their earlier stuff is much better and other bands are doing this stuff with more passion, but it beats the shit out of most of the dreck that gets released each week

Couple of bangers, some if it less inspiring. Won't be working through their catalogue

I've listened to all three of the alleged masterpieces of power pop that these guys released as their opening salvo and they've all left me totally underwhelmed. The songs almost feel too simple and complicated at the same time, and the noodly keyboard stuff is grating to me.

Spotify told me - "you like the raw R&B and pre-prog wonders of The Pretty Things, so how about this bunch of trippy hippies from, presumably, the baked West Coast of 1967". Another algorithm failure, but this was decent enough for twee jangly country-ish with a touch of psych. And some mad rhythms, vocalising and other bits. And Minnie the bloody Moocher like we're in the Blues Brothers
