Very raw and distorted, almost leaning into an industrial sound. Probably the band's most experimental album - with plenty of hits to show for it. The first 9 songs are incredible, and the last two are still good, but forgettable compared to the rest of the album. Whilst I don't think this is by any means a bad album, Kevin has set the bar so high that this still feels like a bit like a disappointment. I appreciate that he is experimenting with his sound, and whilst it works out on songs like 'obsolete' and 'end of summer', some of the songs are simply just misses. Also, the techno sound of 'ethereal connection' is cool in theory, but it drags on for way too long.

With a darker and more gritty feel, this album is unrelenting in its pace. The songs are much heavier than the band's previous two records, almost calling back to Era Vulgaris. The consistency of the songs is quite nice, but they can start to feel a bit same-y after a while.
Favourite - Carnavoyeur, emotion sickness, obscenery
Worst - Made to parade

A solid debut that is nice and lively. Whilst definitely frontloaded, the back half is still pretty good. The only major pitfall is 'Acrobat', which ruins the otherwise fast-paced experience.
