This is like Heartstopper 2021 TikTok music, and I think I would've liked it at that time. But this style is just a little outdated now.
I'm choosing to separate this album from the movie entirely and think of it as a standalone project that just so happens to be an adaptation of Wuthering Heights. All in all, I'm very happy with this. Could've ramped up the orchestral elements a little more on some tracks, but overall this is such a solid album and Charli XCX will be my top artist on Spotify yet again.
Lyrically, jesus christ this is toxic. Musically, this catchy and addicting as hell.
Listening to their discography again after finding out they’re opening for 5sos. The latter half this album makes up for a lackluster first half. And what’s lacking is the volume, and at least they turn that up by the end.
the more time goes on, the higher my rating goes. the deluxe is still better imo but I can tell this album will stick around with me for while.
Imposter single-handedly salvaged this album enough that I felt it was worth my time listening to.
ok why wasn't this the regular cover, this is a masterpiece. These deluxe tracks are also fire, they remind me of 2014/2015 5sos.
this was just a little bit too ahead of it's time
brat only grows on me more and more over time, and I somehow never get tired of any of it. It's actual magic
never thought I'd be rating TTPD this high but hindsight's a bitch
Saw them open for Djo and I knew I had to check them out. This is just a really solid project and I don't dislike a single track.
This is what I'm listening to, reminiscing about the good times before we got things like "New Heights of manhood." She will never surpass this record. Ever.
I re-listened to this after listening to Life of a Showgirl to cleanse my ears.
For the love of god I want one banger and instead I have to hear about Travis's 'magic wand.' I'm a long-time swiftie, but this genuinely disappointed me more than Tortured Poets, and that's saying a lot. I'm being generous with a 60 because I'm hoping some of it will grow on me, but I have less faith in that than ever. EDIT: We're down to a 45 because it grew on me. But in the sense that it grew on my distaste and with every listen, I like it less.
This is an improvement on the first one, but that’s not saying much. At least there’s no interludes about how his “skin is white but his soul is black.”
