Listened to this around 5 times and I can truly say that LFFL proves that Lupe Fiasco belongs in the Mount Rushmore of lyrical hip hop.
I love tracks like “Kick, Push”, which portrays skating as a way of rebelling and moving through tough moments in life, and “Hurt me So”, which clearly shows various corrupt disciplines and acts done in our world.

No drums needed to paint an atmosphere so eerie yet beautiful! Often rapping about his journey through life by portraying himself as some sort of samurai, Ka delivers chilling beats and intrepid rapping in a sort of trancing way… The fact that his flow does not go with the beat was very unique at the time and I found it made the album sound even better! I find it astonishing how Black Thought can spit just as well today as he did back in the day. You could really tell in this project that he was not holding back on delivering potentially the best verses of that decade, and was not going to do so in the upcoming decades. Features are amazing, “Adrenaline!” might be the years best song (although “Mathematics” and “LONG SEASON” live are also in contention).
