This is my official first AOTY review, and I wanted to start off with one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Everything about Illmatic is perfect, and it definitely has no misses. The storytelling, lyricism, rhymes, and beats on this album unmatched. What’s crazy is that Nas only completely finished this album at 20 years old.
