I love what this band is doing for metal. I’m not a huge fan of the “thall” subgenre, but this is one of the only bands that I think is doing it right by infusing other styles. This EP isn’t quite as good or original as their LP from last year, but there’s still some bangers. I just hope they start to experiment a bit more with the next release because I know they’re capable of more.
I’m all for bands bringing back the late 2000’s / early 2010’s metalcore sound. All gas, no breaks, and I love it!
I’m actually shocked by how much I like this album considering how much I disliked the last album. It’s endlessly fun and catchy and I’m going to be spamming this album for the foreseeable future.
Alpha Wolf is one of the most exciting bands in the metal-core scene right now because of the pure energy they bring to their recorded music and live shows. This album continues this trend with “Half Living Things” while infusing some nü-metal aspects into some songs. A lot of heavy bands have been bringing back the old early 2000’s metalcore sound lately. Namely, Dying Wish, Foreign Hands, Static Dress, and SeeYouSpaceCowboy… to name a few.
